Frequently Asked Questions from Students
What kind of testing is done here?
The Testing Center is used for classroom testing only. No standardized tests, such as the GREs or GMATs are administered here.
Can I use my driver’s license for identification if I don’t have my Penn State ID card with me?
Your Penn State ID card is required to verify your identity. If you have a lost or damaged your ID card, you will need to get a replacement from the ID+ office in 103 HUB-Robeson Center.
When should I check-in to take my exam?
If there are available seats in the Testing Center, you may be able to check-in as early as fifteen minutes before your scheduled registration time. Late-comers will be accepted up to fifteen minutes after the scheduled start time. If you show up after the thirty minute window, your exam will have to be rescheduled for the next available time slot - unless otherwise approved by your instructor. Do not assume that you can take your exam at anytime during the scheduled day.
How do I reschedule an exam?
The initial scheduling will be e-mailed by Testing Center staff to all students on the course roster with information about the exam and the scheduling link to access. In order to reschedule, you must be access the same link, https://clc.its.psu.edu/etesting/students, for the next available open time slot. You are required to access this site and register on your own - the Testing Center staff cannot do this for you.
Can I can use the calculator on the computer’s accessories menu and access my notes stored in an electronic file?
Your instructor will tell you, in advance of the exam, if items such as calculators or notes are allowed to be used during your exam. If your instructor allows these, you must bring them with you. Your exam is the only thing you can access from the lab computer – no outside files or accessories can be used.
How do I get my tests results if the test does not automatically give a score at the end?
You will need to get the scores from your instructor.
Can I use the e-Testing Lab for general computing purposes?
